The presentation by the Special Representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic on the Mountain Agenda will focus on the implementation of the Five Years of Action for Mountain Regions Development (2023-2027), adopted by the UN General Assembly at the initiative of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The presentation will also address the importance of mountains for sustainable development, Kyrgyzstan’s key initiatives on the mountain agenda, a timeline of key mountain-related international events, the main goals and objectives of the Five Years of Action for Mountain Regions Development Roadmap, and the glacier melting issues in Kyrgyzstan.

The Special Representative will also speak about the upcoming Second Global Mountain Summit “Bishkek+25”, scheduled for October 21-23, 2027.
