BACKGROUND

Inner-alpine valleys face intense land-use pressure, yet infrastructure already extends beyond the Permanent Settlement Area into single-use archipelagos like ski resorts. As climate change forces a post-ski era and the EU targets net-zero land take, this session explores future use-cases of these extended territories. We invite planners, ecologists, and stakeholders to rethink alpine urbanism, relieve pressure on valleys, and integrate ecosystems beyond traditional boundaries.
